Pakistan Air Force, besides assuring a strong defense of the aerial boundaries of the country, holds the honor of effectively managing the social activities.

Be it helping flood affected people or conducting relief activities during earthquake disasters, PAF has always played a key role in helping the nation. Likewise, distinguished participation in different sports at national or international levels has also been PAF's hallmark.

As it is said that a sound body has a sound mind, the balance exercise or workout is also essential for the body along with the balance diet. Sports activities are one of the vital sources not only to make the body healthy but also to give it better growth.

The personnel of Pakistan Air Force spare some time from their busy schedule to devote themselves to different sports and games. Believing in excellence, they also strive for achieving higher goals in sports by putting persistent efforts. PAF supports and manages Squash, Skiing, Blind Cricket, and Sailing at national level. Besides, PAF players have proved their mettle by showing excellent performances in football, hockey, volleyball, kabbaddi, golf, and polo, and brightened the country's name in the world.


Air Marshal Hifazat Ullah Khan, Vice Chief of the Air Staff PAF is the president of Pakistan Ski Federation. PAF has the honour to represent Pakistan in Canada. Mohammad Abbas, an employee and the lone skier from Pakistan proudly represented the nation in Alpine Skiing Discipline of the Winter Olympics 2010. 103 athletes form 60 countries participated in the giant Slalom event, which is considered to be maximum participation in any of the events of the Winter Olympics. Abbas secured 79th position out of 103, with a total time of 3 min and 20.58 sec, which is 42.75 sec behind the leader. It is pertinent to mention that Abbas finished 15 sec ahead of Indian athlete in the same run.

Ski Federation of Pakistan (SFP), with Air Marshal Hifazat Ullah Khan as its president, made all efforts for Abbas to qualify for the Winter Olympics 2010. SFP has given requisite exposure of training to Abbas by providing him Advanced Ski Training in Austria twice as well as facilitating his participation in Asian Ski Championships and international ski competitions. Under the aegis of PAF and Ski Federation of Pakistan, the athlete had previously participated in a number of international events and had performed well.

Pakistan Air Force is the pioneer of skiing in the country and making all efforts in promoting the sport in the nation. Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff PAF is patron-in-chief of the Ski Federation.


Pakistan Air Force is the champion in Inter-services Squash Competitions since last ten years. In addition, it also won gold medal in SAF Games 2010. Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman is the president of Pakistan Squash Federation and under his patronage, PAF is rendering great efforts in promoting this game among country's youth.


Under the aegis of PAF, Blind Cricket Federation is meticulously working for the promotion of this game in Pakistan. Pakistan's Cricket Team for Blinds has the forte to participate in international competitions as well. Blind Cricket Federation arranges various competitions at Air Headquarters Cricket Ground throughout the year. Teams from all over the country participate in these competitions. PAF won the Cricket Championship for the Blinds this year and kept its tradition of winning this trophy every year.


Air Marshal Waseemud din, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Admin) is the president of PAF Sports Control Committee and under his supervision Pakistan Air Force Football team won the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Flood light Football Tournament-2009.


Pakistan Air Force players were selected for the national hockey team, and won the gold medal in 2009.


96 players of 18 countries participated in Shaheed Banazir Bhutto International boxing championship and 2 Pakistan Air Force players won the silver medals in the championship and made the Pakistan Air Force proud.


Pakistan Air Force Volleyball team won the Inter Services Championship-2007 and National Championship-2009. Apart from this, it also won the silver medal in South Asian Games-2010 in Dhaka.


Pakistan Air Force Kabaddi team stood second in Inter Services Competitions while winning the silver medal in South Asian Games-2010 in Dhaka.


Pakistan Air Force won gold and silver medals in Inter Services Games-2009 and won three silver and one bronze medals in South Asian Games-2010 in Dhaka.


Pakistan Air Force Athletics team stood second in Inter Services Games and third in National Games while winning one gold and two silver medals in South Asian Games-2010 in Dhaka.


Pakistan Air Force holds the honour of being the champion of Chief of Army Staff Open Golf Championship.


Pakistan Air Force polo team stood second in 2010 Polo Competition. Such a devotion and dedication is commendable with which all these players have not only made PAF's proud but also brought pride to the entire nation. A simple but dignified ceremony was held at Air Headquarters Islamabad. Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman was the chief guest on the occasion. He gave away cash prizes to the players.

Air Chief always encourages sports activity and never takes even a pause to commend the performance of the players in various games to express his resolve that PAF would continue to support the sports activity in the country and all efforts would be made to polish the sportsmanship through professional coaching and training.
