PROFILE: Dr. Anwar Ali Shah G. Syed, Professor Meritorious (BPS-22) IBA has been appointed as a Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration, University of Sindh, Jamshoro by the Governor Sindh / Chancellor University of Sindh, Jamshoro for a period of three years with effect from 01-07-2009.

Prof. Dr. Anwar Ali Shah G. Syed is M.Com, LL.B. (Sindh), MBA (Leeds) England and Ph.D. in Business Administration from Cardiff Business School, (Wales) United Kingdom. Dr. Shah is presently serving as a Meritorious Professor (BPS-22) at Institute of Business Administration, University of Sindh Jamshoro and is the senior most Dean of the University of Sindh. He is leading the Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration, University of Sindh, since July 01, 2003 to-date.

Dr. Shah has more than 31 years of teaching and research experience including 16 years as a Professor. He has more than 20 publications in the journals of national and international repute and a book on Banking in the field of Commerce & Business Administration at his credit.

Dr. Shah is serving as Member, Adhoc Committee for feasibility report for establishment of Private Sector Universities and degree awarding Institutes in the Province of Sindh.

Dr. Shah is also serving as Expert Member of Charter Inspection & Evaluation Committee (CIEC), Education Department, Government of Sindh for Inspection & Evaluation of the private sector Universities / degree awarding institutes in the Province of Sindh since 2003 in the field of Business Administration and Management Sciences.

Dr. Shah is a Member of Pakistan Business Education Accreditation Council, Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Education, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.

Dr. Shah is the Founder Director, Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Sukkur (Affiliated to IBA, Karachi). Dr. Shah has also remained Member of Academic Board, Affiliation Committee and Doctorate Committee of IBA, Karachi.

Dr. Shah has also privilege to be the Founder of Aptitude / Entry Test at the University of Sindh for purpose of Admissions in Bachelors, Masters and other Degree Programs.

Dr. Shah has worked as a Director, Institute of Business Administration, University of Sindh for more than 10 years. Dr. Shah has served as a Member of Syndicate, University of Sindh. Presently, he is member Academic Council, Finance & Planning Committee, Selection Board, Affiliation Committee and the Senate of the University of Sindh. At present, Dr. Shah is also member of the Syndicate, University of Sindh.

Dr. Shah has also served as Chairman and Member of National Review Committee in Commerce, Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. He is also Member of National Review Committee in Business Administration, Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Education, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad. He is also member of Board of Studies and Board of Faculties of various Universities in Pakistan.

Dr. Shah as an expert is evaluating MS, MPhil and PhD theses of the national and international Universities in the field of Commerce & Business Administration.

Dr. Shah is also member on Editorial Board - "International Journal of Management Studies & Research" - IJMSR Faculty of Management Studies, University of Central Punjab, and "Journal of Business Strategies" Research Journal Faculty of Management Sciences and Information Studies, Greenwich University Karachi. He is also member of Scientific / Reviewers Committee, International Research Journal of Arts & Humanities (IRJAH), University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan.

Dr. Shah has worked as a Member of Board of Governors and Finance Committee, Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) Hyderabad. Dr. Shah has also served as a member of Board of Governors, Public School, Hyderabad and Cadet College, Larkana.

Dr. Shah was awarded Silver Medal for securing First Class First Position in LL.B. in 1979 from the University of Sindh in 1997-98.

Dr. Shah was awarded Gold Medal by the University of Sindh in 1997-98 in recognition of his meritorious services in the field of education.
