TELENOR PAKISTAN (TP)
The license terms lay down in 4 years, Telenor will cover up 70% of Pakistan's 297 administrative Tehsil headquarters. Telenor will complete the license requirements and provide superior quality coverage.
TP started its operation in March 2005 by purchasing the license at the cost of $291 million in April 2004. In June 2006, TP received FPCCI telecom excellence award for the largest foreign direct investment in recent years and TP is planning to extend their investment figures of US$1billion. TP paid highest custom duties in 2005 and received High Tax Award in 2004-05 in January from CBR.
SHARE OF TELENOR IN TOTAL CELLULAR SUBSCRIBERS
The total numbers of Telenor subscribers were 0.83 million and 3.5 million showing the share of 6.5% and 10.4% in total subscribers during 2005 and 2006 respectively.
Telenor Pakistanís selling line is Telenor-the Smart Call, a reference to its brand promises of offering more value for money to each unique type of customers with range of diversified products in the market like Telenor Persona Postpaid, djuice, Azadi and Talkshawk. TP is the leading provider of television and broadcasting services to consumers and enterprises in the country with the widest EDGE connectivity. TP bought license to operate in AJK and NA in June 2006, is fast extending coverage in the area.

SERVING THE SOCIETY
After 8th October 2005 earthquake, TP contributed Rs65 million to the President Earthquake Relief Fund and international Red Cross. TP also provided crisis communication support to Edhi and other relief organizations. Group employees contributed more than 30 million worth of relief goods. TP starts a program DUA with SOS childrenís villages of Pakistan, which provides support for hundred earthquake orphans and offers free communication services.
