The Department of Business Administration adheres to merit as the criteria in its all aspects of operations from selection of learned faculty members to admission and evaluation of students. The academic programs of department help to develop the stamina and diligence- essential for success in the increasing competitive international environment.

The Department of Business Administration, therefore acquires the services of high quality professionals and scholars who are committed to pursuit the excellence and are endowed with vision, courage and dedication.

Not only the services of parent University Professors but also the services of high learned professionals and academicians have been acquired to enhance the ability of students of problem solving and analytical resolving Such rigorous academic programs prepare the participants to perform up to demanding intellectual tasks.

The services of foreign qualified professionals are acquired to teach the students at the department i.e. Professor Shah Muhammad Luhrani, Dean Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration and Ex-Director IBA Sukkur is teaching with enthusiasm and spirit to students of department.

The services of Mr. Shoaib Adil Mughal, C.S.S. qualified, MBA from A.N University, Australia, & Ex-DTO Pakistan Railways have been also acquired and he is teaching to the students of MBA-Final Subject HRM in Morning & Evening shift regularly in this department with all his dedications and endeavors.

THREE MONTHS TRAINING PROGRAM AND ICDL CERTIFICATE AWARDED BY HEC TO TWO TEACHERS OF DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.

Two Senior Teachers of Department Mr. Minhoon Khan Laghari and Miss Irum Rani Shaikh have attended three months "Faculty Development program" from 18th February 2006 to 17th May 2006, they have also attended the course of "International Computer Driving License" (ICDL) program organized by HEC and participant teachers got the certificates also.

FIVE TEACHERS OF DEPARTMENT PROCEEDED FOR PH.D AND PASSED GRE TEST.

1. Mr. Rehman Gul Gilal, Lecturer, Department of Business Administration after passing GRE Test has left to China for acquiring Ph.D degree, a scholarship in this regard has also been offered to him.

2. Mr. Rahim Bux Soomro, Lecturer, Department of Business Administration, has been proceeded for PhD degree at COMSAT Islamabad the after passing GRE Test.

3. Mr. Muhammad Imran Abbasi, Lecturer has been offered scholarship for France and he has been relived w.e.f 11-01-2007 for doing his Ph.D degree.

4. Mr. Parkash Lal & Mr. Irfan Ali Mirani, Lecturers of Department of Business Administration have passed G.R .E Test and they are due to be relieved for doing their PhD degrees from abroad.

5. Mr. Munir Ahmed Shah has been registered at Iqra University Karachi, for doing his PhD degree @ Iqra University Karachi & Mr. Muhammad Saleh Memon & Mr. Muhammad Ismail Soomro have also been relieved for M.Phil Program @ same University.

INDUCTION OF THREE HIGH QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED FACULTY MEMBERS.

Our new induction is clear reflection of that Mr. Salman Bashir has diverse experience with ECL (multinational Brockage house) where he has been responsible for conducting analysis of companies through advanced Financial modeling, Mr. Wajid Hussain Shah has versatile experience with Colgate Palmolive Pakistan , Pakistan ordnance factories (Ministry of Defense), Cosmos Communication and at IBA Sukkur , Mr. Irfan Ali Mirani has also teaching experience and he has qualified for scholarship to Austria, soon to be relieved.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES AT DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.

The department invites academicians, scholars, business executives and intellectuals for Seminars from time to time to make students acquainted with the views of highly learned persons and about the pragmatic Information of Marketing and Finance on National and International levels.

In this connection, the two extensive lecture programs were arranged by the department on 13th & 24th of February at 10:00 A.M & 4:00 P.M at the department, Prof. Dr. Rashid Ahmed Shah, HEC visiting Professor, delivered lecture on the following topics.

1. "The personality and role of manager in business administration".
2. "Writing technical report".

The Faculty Members and large number of students attended the lecture programs and appreciated the lecture of Ld. Doctor. The students also learned a lot from the views and subject matter on the above topics presented by Ld. Doctor.

PROF. DR. IQBAL AHMED PANHWAR, DEAN, FACULTY OF EDUCATION UNIVERSITY OF SINDH JAMSHORO DELIVERED LECTURE AT DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.

Prof. Dr. Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar was also invited to deliver two lecture programs on 23rd & 24th of February 2007 on the following topics:

1. Role of modern cvs in employment.
2. Case studies as remedies of managerial problems in modern world.
3. Contemporary research methods in business world
4. Customized case studies of pakistani organizations and its solution.

Mr. Chandan Lal Rohra, Assistant Professor /Incharge, Department of Business Administration delivered his Final PhD Seminar on dated 29-05-2006, Professor Dr. Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Sindh Jamshoro. Guide of the Scholar, Professor Shah Muhammad Luhrani, Prof. Dr. A.R. Malik Vice Chancellor, SALU Khairpur and large number of researchers /scholars and students participated the seminar. The research guide, Vice Chancellor, researchers/scholars and students were of the opinion that subject matter presented by the PhD scholar was of the high quality and the presentation of the scholar was also praiseworthy.

FINAL SEMINAR OF MR. MINHOON KHAN LAGHARI AND MISS IRUM RANI SHAIKH FOR ACQUIRING THEIR PH.D DEGREE.

The final Seminar of Ph.D was delivered by Mr. Minhoon Khan Laghari on topic "Restructuring of commercial Banks in Pakistan {A comparative study of MCB & NBP} on 18-11-2006 in the Department of Business Administration and Miss. Irum Rani Shaikh also delivered 2nd Seminar of Ph.D on the topic " Competition in Oil Industry of Pakistan" { A Comparative Study of Oil Marketing Companies (ONC'S} under able guidance of Prof. Dr. Amanat Ali Jalbani, Director, Institute of Business Administration SZABIST Karachi, Prof. Dr. A.R.Malik Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shah Muhammad Luhrani Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration and large number of researchers/ scholars and students participated this seminar who praised the work of research scholars.

MR. SYED MUNIR SHAH LECUTER, DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION ACQUIRED THE M.PHIL DEGREE.

The final seminar of Mr. Munir Ali Shah for acquiring the M.Phil degree of the research scholars was held on dated 06-06-2006, in Department of Business Administration under able guidance of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nawaz Chand, Dean, faculty of Social Sciences and Arts, and Prof. Shah Muhammad Luhrani Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration. Mr. Shah has acquired his M. Phil degree conferred on him in the Annual Convocation 2007 held on 28th March 2007.

STUDENTS AT INDUSTRIAL, STUDY TRIP AND ONE DAY PICNIC PROGRAMS, DURING THE SESSION 2006-2007.

The industrial & study trips of different industrial organizations for the students of Department of Business Administration, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur are arranged by the department to enhance the skills, knowledge and efficiency of students and on the request of this department Lectures are delivered by the officials of industries on the exploration, research, Management system, budgetary system, and Advertising and Marketing system of their organizations.

INSTALLATION/USE OF MODERN TEACHING AIDS FOR THE EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION DURING LECTURES

Modern teaching aids are used in the classes for effective communication between teachers and students in the classes which are essential for the proper perception of students to the subject matter presented by the teachers of the department.

In this connection an addition of one over head projector has been made and now number of overhead projectors has been increased from 4 to 5, video projection (TV/VCR), optic lens and multimedia projector has been provided as modern teaching aids in the department and F.M communication system along with good quality speakers has been installed in class of BBA Part-I to communicate the matter properly to the students of the department.

ACCEPTANCE OF EIGHT WEEKS BUSINESS INTERNSHIP FOR THE STUDENTS OF DEPARTMENT BY REPUTABLE ORGANIZATIONS OF COUNTRY.

The eight weeks Business Internship in various reputable organizations of the country is an essential requirement for the students of MBA (Final) of department for award of MBA degree.
