The University of Sindh, which is the second oldest University of the country was established at Karachi Under Act No.XVII of 1947 known as Sindh University Act of 1947, published in the Sindh Government Gazette of 3rd April 1947. This University was afterwards shifted from Karachi to Hyderabad in the year 1951 and continued working over there.
In early Sixties it was partly shifted to its new campus surrounded by hills presently known as Allama I.I.Kazi Campus, situated on the right Bank of River Indus near Jamshoro. This campus is nearly at the distance of 15 kilometers from its city campus, which is now known as Mrs. Elsa Kazi Campus, University of Sindh.
The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Sindh, Jamshoro formerly known as Institute of Business Studies (IBS) was established in 1979, under the dynamic leadership of Late Prof. Nabi Bakhsh Daudpota.
The Institute offers three-years Bachelor Degree BBA(Hons) program and One year Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Marketing, Finance, Management Information System(MIS), Management, Accounting and Human Resource Management. The IBA also offers MBA direct degree program (two-year Four Semesters Masters Degree) in its regular morning program with specialization in the afore-mentioned fields.
IBA also offers Two-year six semesters MBA evening program specially designed for in-service personnel and others striving to Improve career opportunities with specialization in Marketing, Finance, Management Information System (MIS), Management, Accounting and Human Resource Management.
IBA also intends to introduce 04 years BBA(Hons) scheme received from Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, effective from January 2007.

PROF. FEROZUDDIN KAZI
Prof. Ferozuddin Kazi, Director, IBA hails from the studious family of Nasarpur town, Taluka Matiari District Matiari, Sindh, Pakistan. He earned his Masters in Commerce and Diploma in Business Administration from University of Sindh in 1972. Later he also earned Diplomas in Personnel Administration and Industrial Relations from Karachi.
His academic endeavors focus on Human Behavior and Management for competitive success and strategic change. His academic expertise also spans the areas of Accounting, Auditing and Marketing.
He started his career as a Lecturer in 1973 at St. Patrick's Degree College, Karachi and gradually achieved ascendancy to Professorship in Commerce and Business Administration in 1993 through dint of his devotion to profession at the Department of Commerce & Institute of Business Studies, University of Sindh.
Prof. Kazi is founder member of the Institute of Business Studies of the University of Sindh and served both Department of Commerce and the Institute of Business Studies as Chairman and Director respectively, from time to time. He is the pioneer Professor and Director of MBA Executive Evening Program, University of Sindh, Elsa Kazi Campus, Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan (Academic Linkage with Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, USA and Dhaka University, Dhaka, Bangladesh).
He is the member of the Senate and Academic Council, University of Sindh.
Prof. Kazi has also remained the member of Syndicate, University of Sindh, Jamshoro and member, Board of Governors, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education(BISE), Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan.
He has held several top slots of teaching and administration as Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration and Registrar, University of Sindh.
The University of Sindh acknowledged his immense contributions towards the educational cause by awarding him Gold Medals.
He has also earned a number of other awards and shields.
