Sir Adamjee Institute of Technology (SAIT) is sponsored by the Pakistan Memon Educational & Welfare Society, the same non-profit organization, which had established and run the famous Adamjee Science College. This prestigious institute was established to honour one of sub-continent's great visionaries, Sir Adamjee Haji Dawood. Situated at the center of the city, Hussainabad, F.B. Area, Karachi, Sir Adamjee Institute of Technology was formally inaugurated on 12th February 2000 by Lt. Gen. (R) Moinuddin Haider, the then Federal Interior Minister.

The Pakistan Memon Educational & Welfare Society was constituted on 26th January 1955 and registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. Actually it was in 1933 that this society was established in the subcontinent and known as All India Memon Educational & Welfare Society. Since its inception the aim of the society has been to provide higher education without any bar of caste or creed.


The Institute is set out to be an academic center of excellence in Business and Computer Studies, through well conceived and planned curricula. The faculty at SAIT are of high quality & repute and are experts in their respective areas.

SAIT has been incorporated under Section 32 of the Companies Ordinance 1984 (XLVII) and registered with the Government of Sindh under Private Institutions (Control & Regulations Rules 2001). At present the Institute is affiliated with the University of Karachi for its Masters/Bachelors of Business Administration programs and Bachelor of Computer Science Program. All the programs are available in morning and evening sessions for boys and girls.


The spacious campus of Sir Adamjee Institute of Technology is spread over more than two acres. The building complex has air-conditioned classrooms, resourceful library, hygienic canteen, fully equipped computer labs, a large auditorium and ample car parking space. Three large green lawns add beauty to the peaceful academic environment. For an un-interrupted supply of power, the campus has two power generators. An exclusive Pole-Mounted Transformer is being installed for SAIT for the sanctioned load of 238 KVA.

SAIT has spacious library with ideal academic environment and research facilities. It has about 4100 titles and 700 CDs with six on line terminals.


Our fee structure is quite affordable i.e. the admission fees is Rs.5000/- and the tuition fees is Rs.3000/- per month for bachelors program and Rs.4000/- per month for masters program. The Masters program in the evening is of six semesters in three years, whereas the Masters program in the morning is of four semesters in two years. The Bachelors program in Computer Science in morning and evening is of three years. The Bachelors program in Business Administration is of two years.


All the programs are run as per syllabi of University of Karachi. The degrees are awarded by Karachi University and are graded at par with its own degrees without any discrimination.


The eligibility criteria for 3-years BCS program is as under:

Intermediate with Pre-engineering group with a least 45% marks. Or
Intermediate general group with Mathematics and two optional subjects from Computer Science, Statistics or Economics with at least 45% marks. Or
A level with two passes including Mathematics. OR
DAE all trades, minimum 70%.
The eligibility criteria for 2-years BBA program is a sunder:
Intermediate or equivalent in any discipline with 45% marks.


Graduation from any recognized university with eligible disciplines in at least second division.


The faculty members at SAIT are highly qualified and expert in their fields. Mostly they are IBA graduates or professionally qualified from Institutes/Universities of repute and international recognition. The Business Administration programs were inducted at SAIT from January 2004. Engr A R Daroowala, the Ex-Board member of SAIT, who is an IBA graduate, and highly qualified and experienced in multi facet disciplines, took over as the Operational Head of the Institute in the capacity of Director.


The ultimate objective of the Institute is to acquire an Independent Charter for the degree awarding status. This process has long been initiated and is in progress. The affiliation phenomenon with the University of Karachi is a pre-condition for independent charter.


With the blessings of Almighty Allah and the guidance and supervision of its able Chairman, Mr. Ahmed Chinoy (renowned businessman, philanthropist and social worker) and efforts of the management/staff, SAIT is moving towards its goals at the fast pace. SAIT is now ready to realize its dreams of earning a high name for the community in the education sector.
