COMMENTS: The rupee maintained a firm posture against dollar in the open market dealings this week and any major change in the exchange prices was not recorded throughout. New week started at Rs. 60/15 and ended at the same price on Saturday. However a mix trend was observed in midweek trading as both rise and falls were recorded in the price of dollar.

COMMENTS: Contrary to its trend previous week, euro showed a rising trend here in the kerb dealings and managed to keep rupee under technical pressure. The single currency started new week on its overnight bleak note but with due progress on the international desks, first recovered and later on showed significant gains. Trading started at Rs. 70/15 and on Saturday, euro was changing hands at Rs. 70/70.

COMMENTS: Yen prolonged with its rising trend against rupee this week and added more gains to its last week's price. However the yen slipped after Japan unexpectedly revised down its economic growth rate for the July-September quarter to 0.2 percent from an initial reading of 0.4 percent. But the revision was mainly due to a surprisingly big drawdown of inventories, while capital spending and consumption were revised up.
