COMMENTS: The national currency showed both upward and downward trends versus the dollar in the kerb this week. However, the rupee managed to register gains against greenback at close of market on Saturday. The dollar opened new week's trading at Rs.. 60/05 on Monday, recorded major gains on Thursday by touching at Rs. 60/13 which was the highest price of the dollar versus the local currency in the kerb this week. However, the rupee managed to make a comeback on Saturday by dragging dollar down at Rs. 60/00.

COMMENTS: Like dollar, the cable also observed both upward ad downward trends versus the national currency in the kerb this week. Pound Sterling kicked off new week's trading at Rs. 105/15, saw losses in the middle by touching Rs. 104/30 on Wednesday but managed to make a sharp comeback thereafter and changed hands at Rs. 105/50 at close of markets on Saturday, Thus, the rupee shed 0/35 pasia overall.

COMMENTS: The single currency observed both upward and downward trends against the rupee in the open market this week. However mostly, the euro kept losing grounds versus the rupee through out and touched Rs. 71/65 on Tuesday, However, the single made a good come back and changed hands at Rs. 72/20 at close of markets on Saturday. Overall, Trading set-off at Rs. 72/40 and with a gain of 0/20 paisa, the rupee changed hands at Rs. 72/20 at close of markets on Saturday.
