International Industries Limited incorporated in 1948 as a trading company, ventured into the business of manufacturing high quality welded steel pipes and tubes in 1965. The first pipes to roll out were high quality electric resistance welded pipes, used as Electric Conduit.

Precision steel tubes remained the core of its pipe and tube manufacturing operations until 1982. Manufacturing was expanded to include Galvanized Pipe in 1983. Cold rolled strip manufacture for in-house use and sale, commenced when the Company commissioned the country's first and only Cold Rolling Mill in the private sector in 1990. The Company remains the market leader in its segment of Galvanized Pipe and Precision Steel Tubing, with sales in the fiscal year 2003-04 in excess of Rs4.99 billion.

International sales commenced in an organized manner in 1995. Today, the Company remains the leading exporter of welded steel pipes and tubes from Pakistan and is selling its products in all continents. With its sophisticated machinery, ongoing expansion plans and upgrade to value-added products, the company has been successful in developing new export markets and is poised to increase and expand these sales. The increased level of international sales is a strong endorsement of the company's resolve and intent with the quality of its products comparable to those manufactured internationally. The fiscal year 2003-04 saw sales exceed 124,000 tons per annum with export sales valued at over Rs980 million (over $17 million). The company was awarded Export Trophy for Nontraditional Items in 1999-2000 and Export Trophy for Mechanical Engineering Items in the following four years.

Listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange in 1984, International Industries today has equity of over Rs1.7 billion. Turnover grew from Rs15 million in 1976, crossing Rs1 billion in 1992, Rs2 billion in 1998-99 and Rs3 billion in 2001-02 and almost Rs5 billion in 2003-04. The company is certified to the Quality Management Systems ISO 9001:2000 (first company in Pakistan), Environmental Management System, ISO 14001:1996 and has API Accreditation to Q1 and 5L. its achievements have been recognized and it is the recipient of one of the Karachi Stock Exchange top twenty-five companies of Pakistan award for 2001, 2002 and 2003.

Crossed 100,000 tons in production and sales. Won the Karachi Stock Exchange Top 25 companies award.

2004

Awarded trophy for Best Export Performance for Mechanical Engineering Goods and the Karachi Stock Exchange Award for the second consecutive year.
