COMMENTS: Contrary to last week, the rupee showed some recovery against greenback in the open market dealings. Although dollar started fresh week on a high note but soon fall and rupee was able to post gains on the desks at the close on Saturday. There was little pressure on rupee, which was later recovered and rupee found support on fundamental grounds.

COMMENTS: Pound sterling kept tremendous pressure on rupee this week too and significant change in its price was recorded. Throughout, sterling appreciated against rupee amid its rise against its counterparts in the international market. A higher than expected inflation report boosted cable by 2 cents to a 4-week high of $1.92, to test the 4-month trend line resistance extending from the $1.9549 high through the 1. 9324 high.

COMMENTS:
A rising trend in the price of euro was recorded through this week and rupee remained under pressure on account on euro's upbeat performance on the international desks. Euro started new week at Rs77/70 whereas at weekend, it was changing hands at Rs78/10 showing an overall gain of 0.30 paisa.

COMMENTS: Yen was weak initially but gained momentum towards the weekend against rupee as well as US dollar and euro in the international market. Demand remained normal here in the local dealings. The euro also fell 1 percent against the yen. It traded around 138.34 yen, a three-week low and its biggest one-day plunge in a month.
