Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited celebrated its 10th anniversary in Pakistan. Honda formally entered the Pakistan automobile market in 1994 with Civic and in 1997 with City.
Honda known worldwide for its quality and product superiority changed the way cars used to look in Pakistan. Introducing global models and features like Metallic colours, PGMF-I engines, Automatic Transmission, VTEC Engine, Oriel, 4-Wheel Disc Brakes, ABS, Prosmatec Transmission, I-DSI Engines and Vario has always been Honda's speciality. Honda provided Pakistan market with latest models 6 Civic and 3 City during the last ten years selling over 60,000 cars. We plan to double the sales in the next few years in line with the past experience.



In 1994, the company started business with 6 "3S" (Sales, Service & Spare Parts) dealerships in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Today the network has grown to 16 "3S" dealerships in 10 major cities of Pakistan.


The Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunications, Mr. Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari prominently highlighted the enterprising leadership of cellular giant Mobilink and lauded the company's effort in change-management and introducing latest technologies for the convenience of cellular consumers in Pakistan.

The minister commented favorably in support of the bold initiatives undertaken by Mobilink while inaugurating the ICIT 2004 Conference with the theme "Information Technology Catalyst for the Growth of National Economy" at the Karachi Expo Center.

Mr. Awais Ahmed Leghari while addressing a distinguished gathering of IT & telecommunications professionals and investors from the region and around the world said, "We recognize and appreciate the dynamism of people like Mr. Zouhair A. Khaliq, President & CEO of Mobilink who has introduced a process of change-management in technological services and initiatives which are actually benefiting consumers throughout the country."


The Chairman of "Senate Standing Committee" on "Petroleum and Natural Resources" Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas appreciated the work of the SSGC in expanding its transmission/distribution network. He also called for the expeditious release of funds from the Federal Government for SSGC's distribution and expansion programme in Sindh and Balochistan.

He was presiding over a meeting with the Sui Southern Gas Company during a visit to the Company's head office at Karachi on 13th August 2004.

The Managing Director SSGC gave a detailed presentation on the new vision, functions and operations of the Company. He informed the committee that SSGC was working on a comprehensive five years expansion plan for the period from 2003-04 to 2007-08 with an investment of Rs. 36.7 billion. MD informed that gas transmission system will be expanded by 600 kms and capacity by 43% from 1,200 MMCFD to 1,700 MMCFD. The distribution system and main supply network will be extended by 2,451 km to connect 600 new towns and villages in both the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan with the gas supply.

MD SSGC further stated that after completion of five years expansion and development plan, the customer base will increase from 1.7 million to 2 million.




Mr. Munawar Baseer Ahmad, MD of SSGC and Mr. Harry Debes, President & CEO of SPL WorldGroup signed a contract at a local hotel for the implementation of a "Customer Care and Billing Solution and establishment of a centre of excellence". Dr. Ishrat Hussain, Governor State Bank of Pakistan was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Mr. Mustafa Kamal, the Provincial IT Minister was the special guest. Mr. Douglas C. Rohn, the US Counsel General, Mr. Harry Debes, President & CEO of SPL WorldGroup and executives from Ministries, Utilities, Banks, IT Companies and various multinationals graced the ceremony with their presence.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ishrat Hussain, Governor of SBP said that one of the problems of the customers of public sector utilities in Pakistan have always been facing is the lack of responseviness by the utility companies. He appreciated the SSGC's management which has taken up this challenge to improve the quality of service, care and facilities to the customers by bringing in IT-based solutions. He was hopeful that such steps will serve as a incentive to other companies to adopt and follow the practice which has been incorporated this particular type of solution.
