SITARA-E-IMTIAZ CONFERRED ON MIAN MUHAMMED MANSHA

President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf decorated Military Personnel & Civilians with awards at an impressive Ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Saddar, Islamabad, on Tuesday the 23rd March, 2004.
The awards have been given in recognition of outstanding services rendered by the officials of the Armed Forces and Civilians in their respective fields.
Mian Mohammed Mansha, Chairman Nishat Group and Muslim. Commercial Bank Ltd was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz, for his being Pakistan's biggest Exporter.

KALSOFT SIGNS MOU WITH INDIAN FIRM

KalSoft (Pvt) Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indus Software based in Pune, India for software development and marketing. The agreement was signed by Mr. Tarun Mathur, Chief Marketing Officer of Indus Software and Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Memon, Chief Executive of KalSoft (Pvt) Ltd.

With the signing of this landmark MoU, KalSoft (Pvt) Ltd becomes the first software house in Pakistan to ink an agreement with a technology vendor neighbouring India.

 

 

HUBCO AND SINDH POLICE JOIN HANDS

The Hub Power Company in a unique collaboration with the Sindh Police recently organized a day-long free medical camp for the residents of Hub and surrounding areas, generating the huge response from the local people who otherwise have little or no access to medical care.

Mr. Vince Harris, Chief Executive, HUBCO and Jam Kamal Khan, District Nazim, Lasbella inaugurated the free medical camp at Civil Hospital Hub.

SSGC SIGNS MOU WITH ASKARI BANK

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed recently between Sui Southern Gas Company and Askari Commercial Bank Ltd for acceptance of gas bills through Askari ATMs and Internet. This service will be available to customers of ACBL as well as SSGC customers who do not maintain an account with ACBL. The MoU was inked by Mr. Munawar Baseer Ahmad, Managing Director Sui Southern Gas Company and Mr. Kalim-ur-Rehman, President & Chief Executive Askari Commercial Bank Ltd.

On the occasion, Mr. Munawar Baseer Ahmad said that this initiative was in line with the company's strategy to bring economical and technology enabled convenience of gas bill payment to our customer's door steps. He added that this will also give our customers freedom of choice and options for easy payment of their gas bills.

12TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF SONERI BANK LIMITED

The Twelfth Annual General Meeting of the shareholders of Soneri Bank Limited was held at a local hotel on March 29, 2004. The Chairman of the Board Mr. Badruddin Feerasta while presenting the Annual Report informed the shareholders that the banking sector remained flushed with surplus liquidity which resulted in a steep decline in return on deployed funds. Inspite of intense competition the results depict satisfactory performance with 36% increase in deposits, 13% growth in foreign trade and pre-tax profit being 31% more than the last year's figure.

The bank opened 5 new branches in the year 2003 and response from all the locations is encouraging. Presently 44 branches are fully operational. Branch expansion programme is continuing and a number of new branches will be added in the year, 2004.

Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (Private) Limited (PACRA) maintained the previous rating of 'A1+' for the short terms and 'AA-' for the long term. These ratings represent very high credit quality and very low expectation of credit risk emanating from very strong capacity for timely payment of financial commitments.
