COMMENTS:In the open market this week Rupee remained strong and traded on a positive note against the US Dollar. The Rupee prolonged the week on a firm note and demonstrated firmness on the desks supported by the weak performance of US Dollar in the international market against its majors. Throughout, mostly there was no change in the price of green and stable trend prevailed in the market at the weekend.

COMMENTS: The Pound rushed towards new high rallying to two months highs here in the kerb. The currency crossed the Rs.94/- barrier for the first time in the last two months and gave no chance to the Rupee at any stage to resist this loss. The strong footing of the Pound against the US Dollar in the international market supported by better than expected jobs data and release of BoE meeting indicating a possible interest rate hike was the main reason for the strong portfolio of the currency against the Rupee this week and in the international market.

COMMENTS: The Rupee continued to lose against Euro and dipped to two month lows when Euro crossed Rs.65/- mark for the first time in the lost two months. Euro was strong in the international market while its rising demand here in the kerb made it strong and the national currency found no way around to resist the loss in its price and thus ending the week on a negative note.

COMMENTS:The Rupee lost few grounds against Yen this week too amid to the continuous gains of the currency against US Dollar in the international market. Here in the kerb, the trading was normal and no major demand of the currency also remained normal but loss in the price charts was recorded due to strength of Yen in the international market.
