Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation, organized
a technical seminar on "Teradata Warehouse 7.0 & Beyond
Technology and thought leadership" at Serena Islamabad on
September 8, 2003. The seminar was largely attended by technical and
IT executives from the government and corporate sectors. The guest
speaker was from Teradata UK, having diverse and considerable
experience of working in Europe & Middle East and Africa region.
While welcoming the guest speaker, Syed Veqar-ul-Islam, Country
General Manager, NCR briefed the audience about the recent
achievements of NCR Pakistan including achieving the distinction of
being CMM level II certified.
He said that our efforts have already helped
organizations across the world and more importantly in Pakistan to
become more customer centric. However, considering the enthusiasm and
interest the market has willingly shown in Teradata solutions and
services, we decided to hold a technical session and have plans to
continue to do so.

Teradata's latest release, V2R5, of integrating mixed workloads to
satisfy a potentially large number of tactical users with the more
traditional strategic user. It marks the first time in the history of
data warehousing that any company can extend decision-making beyond
corporate management to all functions across the organization,
optimizing operational and strategic decisions.

that Teradata Warehouse 7.0 is the first and only data warehouse
solution to simplify complex data warehouse architectures by
consolidating all decision-support databases into one central,
enterprise data warehouse.
Teradata Warehouse 7.0 customer-driven enhancements
focus on key areas that improve system availability, allow access by
tens of thousands of concurrent users, keep data fresh, process mix
workloads using historical and current data and optimize the way the
system handles queries. Without these capabilities, individuals who
are charged with making minute-by-minute decisions can't do their jobs
as effectively. They require fast, consistent and predictable response
