Preston University inked an accord here with the OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation, Islamabad (COMSTECH); Commission on S & T for Sustainable Development in South Asia (COMSATS); and Majlis-e-Taleem-Milli (MTM) for taking over the management of the COMSTECH-COMSATS-MTM Institute of Information Technology (CCMIT), Karachi.

Under the Joint Venture Agreement signed between the above JV partners and Preston at the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, CCMIT a joint venture project of Comstech-Comsats & MTM has been taken over by Preston to offer various degree programs at the CCMIT campus in Karachi.

Muhammad Anwar Usman,  Managing Director of Universal Board and Industries Ltd has been nominated as Vice Chairman of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) standing committee on "Information Technology" for the term 2003 & 2004. He is an industrialist and an entrepreneur. Anwar completed his Bachelors in Electronic and Communication Engineering from The University of Liverpool, UK in 1997 and joined Perfect Engineering Works as Operations and Technical Support Manager. He has also worked for Siemens Pakistan Engineering and Philips Electrical Industries of Pakistan. After few years of work experience he decided to get professional degree in computer sciences and did MSc in Business Information Technology from prestigious University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK in 2001.


Mr. Javed Iqbal, Executive Director, Azfam Technologies elected unopposed as President of Management Association of Pakistan for the year 20012004.

He was elected to this apex position of MAP, a premier organization of professional managers, in its 37 Annual General Body Meeting held on 27th June, 2003.
