BUSINESS CONSULTING SERVICES

Every good business school and university in North America, Europe, Far and South East Asia offer business consulting to real life companies in the faculty members' areas of expertise. On one hand, the companies get the benefit of top quality consulting, the business schools and universities themselves are able to expose their faculty members to real life problems so that they can present solutions.

Many faculty members use this business consulting knowledge and experience they acquire in writing textbooks as well as in developing professional development programs for the working executives.

In Pakistan, Institute of Business Management is one of the very few business schools that provide consulting services to real life companies operating in Pakistan, through its well educated and experienced faculty. The Business Support Centre (BSC) of the institute manages these consulting services, and needless to mention, at a fairly low cost.

Presently, the BSC is offering consulting to three companies, all of which are in the SME sector. These pertain to developing a business plan, developing an Islamic finance transaction and setting up a weaving mill with 12 shuttle less looms.

HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

As for the training programs for the working executives, the BSC with the support of faculty members of IoBM have developed and delivered more than 20 short training programs for financial institutions, industrial sector and the SME's. The BSC partners SMEDA for offering programs for the entrepreneurs in the SME sector. So far, 6 training workshops have been delivered for SME's alone, on behalf of SMEDA.

SELECTION & RECRUITMENT SERVICES

Apart from consulting and human resource development services, the BSC also offers selection and recruitment services for the large size public and private organizations. In a short span of just a few months, the BSC has handled written test and interviews of over 10,000 candidates of various public and private sector organizations. Contracts for written test of another 2000 candidates are in the process of execution.

CURRICULUM SUPPORT SERVICES FOR IOBM

BSC also provides services to its parent organization, IoBM, in terms of curriculum development and upgrade. The most recent development is the launch of CFA® Track by IoBM, that adopts the Level I and II exam curriculum of the renowned Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program of the Association of Investment Management & Research, USA.

This CFA Track, comprising 4 finance electives, is now being offered to CBM's students. These 4 finance elective courses are also being offered as CFA Exam preparatory services for the candidates of CFA Level I and II candidates who may or may not be students of CBM.
