The Rupee started the week with a burly footing against the US Dollar
but saw a massive fall as the market crossed Rs. 63/-, mark for the
first time during the last two months. However the Rupee recovered its
lost grounds as the release of fresh grant by the US supported the
Rupee to bring the market sentiments down and thus the Rupee ended the
week with firm note.

A slight fall in the value of the Rupee was recorded against the
German Mark this week as the US Dollar lost grounds against the Euro
thus giving support to the German Mark in the domestic market. The
Rupee ended the week showing a trail of 0.05 Paisa against the
currency mainly due to a strong Euro in the international market.

Comments:
In the domestic market, the
Rupee found itself strong against the Yen and a slight gain in its
value was recorded at the close of the markets. The reduction in the
trading activities in the wake of 11th September events and war in
Afghanistan has reduced the demand of Yen these days and thus the
Rupee is availing a chance to show gains on the other hand.
