FOREX KERB WATCH

Comments: The Rupee in the open market this week remained firm against the Green back as selling pressure prevailed in the market for most of the time that helped the Rupee to pull back its grounds that it had lost earlier. It was the first time in the last few months of trading that the Rupee demonstrated a gain of 0.40 Paisa on the trading desks and traded at a positive note and ended the week with the same. Overall the trading sessions this week completely went in favour of the national currency and substantial rise in its value was recorded.

Comments: The market showed a mix trend of rise and fall in the values of Rupee and Pound against each other as both the currencies moved both ways in the sessions. The international gains of the Pound in the initial days followed by losses later on created both ups and downs in the value of the Rupee at the end of the week here in the kerb.

Comments: The German Mark showed firm note against the Pak Rupee this week and in most of the sessions remained strong with respect to its value. However the Rupee managed to show some gains from Friday and thus the German Mark ended the week showing a loss of 0.50 Paisa as compared to last week's trading score.

Comments: In the kerb, Yen advanced a little against the Pak Rupee and slight gain in its value was recorded at the end of the week. In the international market, Yen ended the week with a sluggish note. The Yen slumped with Japanese stocks on concern attempts to bolster the economy will first hurt growth in coming months.
