The Interior Minister Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Moinuddin
Haider, has once again reiterated his government's resolve to cleanse
the society of the illegal arms saying that the second phase of the
operation plan in this regard will start next month. During the first
phase which began in March last the government had stopped issuance of
all arms licenses and slammed a ban on the display of weapons which is
to continue and further strengththened.
The Minister was talking to newsmen in Islamabad
recently after presiding over a high level meeting in which strategy
of the second phase of the operation was finalized. The Minister was
hesitant to give the details of the operation plan but this
