One of the most pressing needs of our nation is quality education for our children. Illiteracy and poor standards of education are a plague on our children, and it is impossible to imagine a brighter future for our nation without significant improvements in education.
EBM is responding to this challenge by investing for a brighter future in healthy minds. This is being done through CSR initiatives for example by adopting various schools through partnering with The Citizens Foundation (TCF) and CHAEF for promoting education to the underprivileged and deprived children. EBM's other endeavors in the said field are the launch of its in-house education program called UjalaTaleemi Program that aims to promote literacy among the company's workforce and it also plans to set up literacy centers to reach out to people in jails of Karachi and Hyderabad.
With the aim of investing in its young people for a brighter future of our nation, EBM sponsors programs like the annual Young Leaders' Conference (YLC), Best Practices Day (BPD) and Human Resource Management (HRM) Forum & Human Resource Development (HRD) summit with the objective of inculcating leadership values in our youth and to foster an environment of sharing ideas, experiences and learning with the corporate world.

By keeping a balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impact, EBM became the first company in the industry to have received the prestigious certification of ISO 140001 pertaining to environmental management systems.
To cast positive impact on the environment in which we operate, EBM has initiated a "go-green" plan through garden beautification of its factory premises by reducing waste through innovation and creative designs, utilizing its own gas fired generators for electricity and putting in place waste and water treatment plant through which waste is disposed of properly and water re-cycled efficiently. For its effort to preserve the environment, EBM is the only food company to have received Environmental Excellence Award in 2007 by the National Forum of Environmental & Health (NFEH).
