The company has an annual sales volume and production capacity in excess of Rs20 billion and 100,000 tons respectively. The company takes pride in the leadership position it enjoys with a market share of over 40 per cent of the branded biscuit segment.

EBM has always been passionate about sustainability and social responsibility as it strongly believes in making sustainable business practice integral part of everyday life. To achieve this, EBM has a designated function with the assigned responsibility for managing corporate responsibility at every level of the business; starting from board right down to management teams in the factories.

In recognition of its effort, EBM was awarded the prestigious 6th CSR National Excellence Award 2011 by CSR Association of Pakistan for its contribution to the Pakistani CSR landscape in the fields of education and healthcare.

EBM's corporate vision is translated into action by investing in Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds and ensuring a Healthy Environment via focus on Sports, Health, Education, and Welfare of the Wider Community.

EBM has held food safety as its top priority at the workplace. The company's history of developing innovative and effective food safety systems have been recognized as gold standards in the local industry and as state-of-the-art by academia and government regulators.

In light of its efforts to control food safety hazards and ensure that food is safe at the time of human consumption, EBM was awarded the prestigious ISO 22000 certification.

In order to promote healthy living, EBM participates in a number of national food safety and quality programs such as the sponsorship of International Safe Food Conference series to help educate people about food processes and leading practices in food safety.

Year on year, EBM has been partnering with various government and private health organizations to provide quality healthcare to millions of underprivileged people, a few being Child Health and Education Foundation (CHEAF), Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation (SIUT), Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC), Fatimid Foundation and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.

An area often overlooked within Pakistan, and an area that is significant for EBM as a food manufacturer is good health and fitness for its consumers. EBM knows that fitness is a key aspect of a healthy body and passionate about their involvement in and sponsorship of sporting activities like National Swimming Championship, National Blind Cricket Tournament Olympics Pakistan targeted towards the youth and underprivileged community.

One of the most pressing needs of our nation is quality education for our children. Illiteracy and poor standards of education are a plague on our children, and it is impossible to imagine a brighter future for our nation without significant improvements in education.

EBM is responding to this challenge by investing for a brighter future in healthy minds. This is being done through CSR initiatives for example by adopting various schools through partnering with The Citizens Foundation (TCF) and CHAEF for promoting education to the underprivileged and deprived children. EBM's other endeavors in the said field are the launch of its in-house education program called UjalaTaleemi Program that aims to promote literacy among the company's workforce and it also plans to set up literacy centers to reach out to people in jails of Karachi and Hyderabad.

With the aim of investing in its young people for a brighter future of our nation, EBM sponsors programs like the annual Young Leaders' Conference (YLC), Best Practices Day (BPD) and Human Resource Management (HRM) Forum & Human Resource Development (HRD) summit with the objective of inculcating leadership values in our youth and to foster an environment of sharing ideas, experiences and learning with the corporate world.

EBM believes that companies must take steps to manage their impact on the natural environment and implement the highest environmental standards at all stages of processing and operations. By keeping a balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impact, EBM became the first company in the industry to have received the prestigious certification of ISO 140001 pertaining to environmental management systems.

To cast positive impact on the environment in which we operate, EBM has initiated a "go-green" plan through garden beautification of its factory premises by reducing waste through innovation and creative designs, utilizing its own gas fired generators for electricity and putting in place waste and water treatment plant through which waste is disposed of properly and water re-cycled efficiently. For its effort to preserve the environment, EBM is the only food company to have received Environmental Excellence Award in 2007 by the National Forum of Environmental & Health (NFEH).

EBM recognizes its responsibility as Caring Corporate Citizen and strongly believes in giving back to the wider community not as a responsibility but as an obligation to itself and the nation. For the benefit of the Wider Community, EBM took the initiative to contract and improve a new road now known as the 'EBM Causeway' in conjunction with the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI). This causeway facilitates business and society by reducing traveling time, fuel cost and wear and tear of vehicles.

EBM's corporate value of uplifting lives of the most deserving around us, whether they are individuals, families or the society at large, has been keystone of our dedication and commitment towards various humanitarian and philanthropic work.

EBM also supports NGOs like Markaz-e-Umeed, Alamgir Welfare Trust and Roshni Homes through donations and fundraising campaigns in providing food to millions of needy, poor and special children. EBM's CSR projects support hundreds of thousands of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) affected by earthquake and floods in the northern areas of Pakistan via donations and sponsoring fund raising events for various charities.
