Choosing a career is one of many important choices students have to make in determining future plans. This decision has a long term effect throughout their lives. Selection of a career path can also be complicated because of today's rapidly changing world. It takes more than hard work and a little luck to find the right field of education that can provide the desired earnings and standard of living.
Every student carries the unique account of his past and this determines how he views the world. That account created in part by the student's environment, personality, and opportunity, will determine how students make career choices. It then follows that how the student perceives his environment, personality, and opportunity also will determine the career choices students make.
As soon as students are done with their higher secondary education, they are faced with a problem of choosing the right career. This is difficult because several things, such as financial resources, chances of growth and future opportunities must be considered before choosing a career. Even after considering all such factors, making a career choice in Pakistan is not easy.
Business education, in Pakistan is undoubtedly playing crucial role in the development of this country. Globalization spurred business opportunities in open market and with increase in business opportunity the demand for quality business graduates has increased. Business, management, and administration education are major academic disciplines and professional field in Pakistan in the recent past. A large number of educational institutions offer degree programs in business, management and administration related areas both in public & private sector.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) are two prominent degrees options in business education, which attract people from a broad range of academic discipline. The business administration degrees started in the United States and emerged in late 19th century as Pakistan's industrialized companies sought systematic approaches to management.
A fresh degree holder in business administration when enters into job market, he has to face different nature of working environment. The nature of work in a financial organization is different from non-financial organization. There are many specialized directions which a business graduate may opt to start a career. Initially an MBA degree holder is delegated with responsibilities of any of the branch of business administration i.e. Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management or Banking. Normally work is done strictly in an office. Fresh graduate normally is offered the post of Assistant Manager. Professional having good record and experience is delegated administration job.
Career opportunities in this profession are directly related to the momentum of the national economy. The more the activities of the trade and industry will boost, the more the opportunities will be produced. The other things which influence this profession are science and technology. The integration of information systems is growing day by day.
Machines are taking over humans. Quick and timely decision is getting significance. The requirement of such professional managers who are very well responsive of the practical and academic aspects of this profession as well as have skills to investigate the problem on technical basis and produce efficient output through timely decision making are on the demand with the passage of time. This entire situation indicates towards the bright future of business education.
Courageous and intelligent people having decision making skills have very good and bright chance in this field. It is rather difficult to predict the future job market for graduates of business administration programs. This is because it depends on the area of the field in which one would like to work and the ways in which the economy overall will continue to change. when choosing an area in which you would like to specialize, it is important to not only consider what one enjoys doing, but also to look at the ways in which that specific area will stand the test of time in this ever-changing business environment.
Graduates from business administration programs are probable to make a great deal of money. They can also find themselves in the kinds of positions that have lower ceilings on the potential earnings but offer other benefits, such as attractive hours and more-relaxed work environments. Really, as is the case with many fields of business, the amount you earn is to a great extent determined by your own professional goals.
Business administration programs comprise subjects like economics, organizational behavior, marketing, accounting, finance, strategy, operations management, international business, information technology management, supply chain management, project management, government policy, and ethics.
