NBP wins ‘FPCCI Achievement Award’
National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has been honored with the prestigious “FPCCI Achievement Award” for its contributions in the banking & financial services sector. Mr. Saeed Ahmed, the President and Chief Executive Officer of NBP conferred with a gold medal by the President of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain.
FPCCI Achievement Awards recognize the services of organizations in different sectors contributing towards the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. The award distribution ceremony held at Governor House Karachi.
The award was conferred to appreciate NBP’s role and service to the nation and playing an important role in promoting the cause of financial inclusion, besides providing financing to business community, industrial sector and for different commercial activities.
Mr. Saeed Ahmad, President NBP expressed his gratitude to the honorable president and expressed his resolve to continue structural reforms in the bank to further improve quality of services and introduce technology based products and services. He said that the achievement award would boost the morale of NBP’s workforce and will enhance trust and confidence of our valued customers. “Our aim is to provide basic banking facilities to every citizen across Pakistan with maximum comfort and facilitation to our customers”, Mr. Saeed added.
On this occasion, Mr. Muhammad Zubair Omar, Governor Sindh in a personal message to Mr. Saeed Ahmad said that he was delighted to learn about NBP’s performance under Mr. Saeed Ahmad’s leadership and it is heartening to see this being recognized by the business community in the form of this award by FPCCI.
It is pertinent to mention that NBP has posted highest ever after-tax profit of Rs 23.03 billion for the last year and became the “Two Trillion Rupee Bank” of Pakistan. NBP’s corporate banking, SME funding and agricultural lending remained fundamental drivers of growth in Pakistan’s economy. The bank remains committed to social corporate responsibility and regularly collaborates with civil society organizations for the welfare and economic uplift of the less privileged segments of the society through sponsorships and donations.
The highly acclaimed domestic and international awards and recognitions that the NBP has achieved in recent years include the certificate of membership of “FTSE index”, Pakistan Domestic Project Finance, Bank of the Year 2017 Award, and the “Trade Deal of the Year” award. Other awards given to NBP in recognition of its contributions in social activities include the CSR Award for best CSR services, award for contributing best services in health and education, advocacy awareness campaign; The NFEH’s Corporate Social Responsibility Awards for Sports and Recreational Activities and award in acknowledgment of services in community development.

National Foods Launches its Trailblazers Program Bringing Gen Z Expertise into the Fold
In a bid to revolutionize the operations of the industry, National Foods Limited has launched its Trailblazers program to recruit top talent. The Trailblazers program is a Management Trainee program, which will induct students from Pakistan as well as the global market.
The new program will help pave the path for the future Gen Z, by inducting them in their selected function of the organization. This program functions on the belief that the coming generation is well equipped to trail its own path. The selected Trailblazers will be assigned two projects, one of which will be from the management, while the other will be of their own choosing. National Foods Limited has teamed up with Taar, a consulting company through Mettl, Taar’s Assessment Center. The organization uses a complete online testing method. The tests are designed to identify the right fit for the organization using comprehensive checks for attention to detail, problem solving, critical thinking, data analysis and analytical thinking. Around 3000 applications were received out of which 2100 were shortlisted for the Online Analytical Test, ensuring over 70% participation by applicants.
To ensure the hiring of the top talent in Pakistan, each Trailblazer will go through a rigorous selection process. After the online aptitude test, a total of 36 people will be broken into 6 groups where they will be observed for their participation and contribution to group discussions, time management, analytical, planning and strategic skills, innovative solutions, communication and presentation. The candidates will also take an online psychometric testing which will help the company gauge their job and organizational compatibility and help identify leadership potential.
MCB Bank and ACE Money Transfer award new car to home remittance campaign winner
MCB Bank, one of Pakistan’s largest & most innovative banks, and renowned money transfer company ACE Money Transfer (Aftab Currency Exchange) awarded a brand new Suzuki Mehran to a lucky draw winner as part of the brands’ home remittance promotional campaign.
The campaign is divided in three stages, where one lucky winner at the end of each stage will be eligible to win a Suzuki Mehran via a lucky draw. IBA-CICT to participate in 18th ITCN Asia IT & Telecom Show as the Knowledge Partner
Center for Information and Communication technology – Institute of Business Administration (IBA-CICT) and Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the participation of IBA as a knowledge partner for 18th ITCN Asia IT & Telecom Show. The MoU was signed by Mr. Imran Batada, Director ICT & CICT, IBA and Mr. Umair Nizam, Vice President, Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan. The 18th ITCN Asia IT & Telecom Show will be held from 25-27 September 2018 at Karachi Expo Center, Pakistan.
The 18th ITCN Asia IT & Telecom Show’s scope is expected to be greater than all its previous annual events, with numerous new features added to it. Engro Foods organizes Twin City Tennis Cultivating a Healthy Lifestyle

Engro Foods Limited organized Twin City Tennis Tournament at Islamabad. The tournament was held at one of the biggest tennis complex in the country at Islamabad Tennis Complex.
Around 100 tennis players participated in friendly matches, comprising of men’s single, men’s doubles, junior under 18 singles, junior under 14 singles, and under 10 single. Byco Commissions Pakistan’s largest Isomerisation Plant
Byco, Pakistan’s leading energy firm, has just commissioned the country’s largest isomerisation plant, employing superior technology allowing for a much higher processing capacity of 12,500 barrels per day, which produces a higher octane valued component of Premium Motor Gasoline than is currently available in the market.
Byco Isomerisation Pakistan (Private) Limited (BIPPL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Byco Petroleum Pakistan Limited (BPPL). Byco produces and supplies 40,000 tons of Premium Motor Gasoline (PMG) per month currently. This is expected to steadily rise in the immediate future to 65,000 tons per month. Total PMG production capacity is now 1.25 million tons per annum which will provide substantial substitutions to imports, thereby saving the national exchequer.
