Combining customer awareness with an effective project team is the way forward for brand success

Interview with Mr Sultan Hamdani – Founder and partner, Maison Consulting

Pakistan and Gulf Economist once again got a chance to meet the passionate man, Mr. Sultan Hamdani, the founder and partner of Maison Consulting, a company with 185 plus successful projects across 22 different countries across the globe, below are the few highlights of our chat:.

PAGE: BRIEFLY TELL US ABOUT MAISON CONSULTING, HOW WAS IT STARTED AND HOW IS THE JOURNEY SO FAR?

SULTAN HAMDANI: Maison Consulting was founded back in 2002 with a vision to help companies achieve optimum level of efficiencies through implementation of integrated systems, and we selected Microsoft as the solution because Microsoft was and is the highest growing technology around the world and aligns with our objective of high adaptability in customers.

We started with limited resources however our objective was very clear to work closely with customers and help organizations grow, by achieving efficiencies in their business processes through implementation of international best practices. With the help our equally passionate team we grew very fast and started delivering back to back ERP, CRM & SharePoint successful implementations and satisfied customers not only in our beloved country Pakistan but across many countries globally, and within a very short span of time today we are company with 12 global offices. Our passionate global team of professionals, having vast experience in the field, is busy serving our valued customers globally.

PAGE: IN YOUR OPINION WHAT ARE THE FACTORS AN ORGANIZATION SHOULD CONSIDER SELECTING ANY ERP/ CRM FOR IMPLEMENTATION.

SULTAN HAMDANI: There are many factors however most important factors can be categorized into following broad categories:

  1.  Customer Readiness
  2. Project Team
  3. Right Partner

Customer Readiness: Any system implementation is a change in the business process and any organization who wishes to have international best practices implemented need to be ready for this change, it is just like changing your habits. Any system or any vendor will only be able to help you achieve efficiencies if you are ready to make and accept changes. In a more layman example, when you want to achieve body fitness then the first thing you need to do is to prepare yourself and make yourself ready for change in your daily routine and change in your diet, no Gym in the world will be able to help you until you are determined for it.

Project team: Once you have prepared yourself for the change the next step is to select an appropriate team which will act as the agent of change, which understands your need in terms of ability to meet your requirements, influence the organization and coordinate with the Maison team.

Right Partner: Now that you are ready for the change and you have decided which route you want to go for its time to take the most important decision which will have a very high impact on the success of the Project i.e. selecting the right partner in implementation. It is just like selecting the right lawyer for your case or selecting the right doctor for your treatment or selecting the right University for your higher education, the factors that should be considered are:

  • How long the company has been in this industry, and how well it understands it
  • Whether the vendor has specialized experience in providing solutions to organizations of a similar size and type as yours
  • What is the Team structure of the vendor
  • What other customers are saying

PAGE: WHAT IS THE MAISON’S SECRET OF SUCCESS?

SULTAN HAMDANI: Happy Customers, in our short journey, Maison have achieved and maintained Gold certification competency, have achieved various Partner of the year awards, inner circle Membership, consistent President Club Membership, numerous published case studies on Microsoft Website, and most important 185 global customers from 40 different industries. All of this was made possible due to our proud customers who not only trusted us as their partners but also referred us to others and our team of passionate professionals did not let them down in fact they maintained and improved the level of trust. That is exactly what we wrote 14 years ago as our Mission statement “Enabling customers to achieve their optimum potential by delivering business driven software solutions through our nurtured assets, our people”.

Each satisfied customer gives us more reason to serve the industry in much more better way and we will continue this journey until our customers have trust on us.
