US POLITICIAN WASSERMAN SCHULTZ FIRES PAKISTANI-ORIGIN IT STAFFER ARRESTED FOR FRAUD:

United States (US) Democratic Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz fired a Pakistani-origin information technology (IT) staffer following his arrest on a bank fraud charge at a Virginia airport where he was attempting to fly to Lahore.

CCP IMPOSES PKR.10 MILLION PENALTY ON PROCTOR & GAMBLE:

The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has passed an order imposing a penalty of PKR 10 million on Proctor & Gamble Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited for deceptively advertising its product ‘Safeguard’ as ‘Pakistan’s No. 1 rated Anti-Bacterial Soap’ in violation of Section 10 of the Competition Act, 2010.

PTI WEBSITE DEFACED BY HACKERS:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s website was defaced late Tuesday by a group of hackers calling themselves ‘Voice of Pakistan; Death Adders Crew’. According to the message posted by the hackers on the website, they said that they are not supporters of any political party but ‘will never vote for Imran Khan’.

FFC ANNOUNCES HALF YEARLY RESULTS FOR THE YEAR 2017:

Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) has announced Half yearly results for the year 2017.The Company achieved new Urea production benchmark of 1,281 thousand tonnes during the first half.

AMD UNVEIL ONE PETAFLOP PROJECT 47 SUPERCOMPUTER:

AMD recently unveiled something truly remarkable today – a server rack that has the total processing power of 1 PetaFLOPs. That’ 10 to the power of 15 floating point operation per second or 20 to the power of 15 half precision FLOPs.

3G/4G USERS CROSS 42 MILLION IN PAKISTAN:

By the end of June 2017, the number of 3G and 4G users have crossed 42 million-mark in Pakistan. Previously, it was 41.728 million by the end of May 2017, according to the report published by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Electric car maker Tesla has rolled out its new Model 3 vehicle – the company’s cheapest car to date. The first 30 customers – most of them employees of the company – received their cars on Friday. Chief executive Elon Musk said the Model 3 was the “best car for its cost, either electric or gasoline”.

ROBOT CRACKS OPEN SAFE LIVE ON DEF CON’S STAGE:

Using a cheap robot, a team of hackers has cracked open a leading-brand combination safe, live on stage in Las Vegas.

The team from SparkFun Electronics was able to open a SentrySafe safe in around 30 minutes. The robot is able to reduce the number of possible combinations from one million to just 1,000, before quickly and automatically trying the remaining combinations until it breaks in.
